Is there a way to change the graphic used to pan the map? I would like it bigger and change color depending on the background.
You could try to change mouse properties in your Windows Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel > Mouse).

* First I would suggest to try to just enable: Visibility - Display pointer trails

* If the above is still not enough, you could try to go to the Pointers tab. Change to different style pointer (larger size, etc).

* If that still doesn't do it for you, then you may try to search for 3rd party freeware applications which change mouse pointers.) Does anyone know a good one?)

I met same troubles with mouse pointer low visibility in GPS map of AutoRoute!
Unfortunately windows' mouse properties can not fix that stupid locked mouse pointer that Microsoft provided for all AR users!! No matter what you select, AR map never got changed!... I think the only chance is to impose a force control in ARkeys if possible in order to change mouse pointer design or size and color at least!
I think that also 3rd party freewares dedicated to control mouse properties will not work for AR since AR re-initialize its pointer internally whenever it starts! You should try internal modifications in AR of ARkeysm the only chance but how?...

Toni, you are right. It seems only the idea with the pointer trail works (at least on Vista).

I like the Show location of pointer when I press CTRL key. At least it helps to find it when driving if it must be used or when it's sunny outside. Maybe a new pointer might be added to the wish list of Microsoft Streets and Trips 2009?
