Installing Garmin Mobile PC without DVD Drive?

Hey guys- just got my Acer Aspire One UMPC (which I adore), and before I buy Garmin Mobile PC, I just want to ask if anyone has installed it without a DVD drive. Would it be as simple as copying an .EXE file to a thumb drive using another computer, and then installing off of that drive?

Any thoughts gratefully appreciated as always!

Cheers,

You probably can load it from a large enough thumb drive. Be aware that the DVD is slightly over 1 gig. Its not the executable that takes the space but the compiled maps. Everything is installed at once.

I have Aspire One, and I have loaded up software (like MS Office, iGuidance, and iGuidance Europe) via this little adapter hooked up with my existing internal DVD:

It is cheaper than an external DVD drive.
