OK, but it seems like a simple solution would just be to buy an external USB DVD player. Some day you'll need one for something anyway and they're not that expensive (usually less than $50)! Just make sure you get one that has dual USB cables that doesn't require an external power source!
I always copy my installation disks to a 500GB USB HD anyway for easy installation of my apps after a reformat, but I HAVE to have my DVD player for movies, etc!

BestBuy sales person told me a few months ago it was ILLEGAL to use the WIN7 Upgrade DVD to upgrade from WINXP to WIN7. Huh? I bought it anyway. Guess he didn't know how to do a clean install of WIN7 from the upgrade DVD.
Which, BTW, presents an even better reason to purchase a DVD player. Sooner or later you will want to upgrade to WIN7 and believe me, you
don't want to attemp this with a flash drive!!!
