Did you copy the DVD into its own folder on the portable hard drive? If so, there should be a SETUP.EXE program in the folder. If there is, you should be able to run it and that should get you going.

I think dave1515 wants to open the map files that came with Mobile PC in MapSource. Unfortunately, that is not possible. The map files on the Mobile PC DVD are precompiled. MapSource can not open those image files nor uncompile them for its own use.

Thanks for the feedback. I have resigned myself to the fact that I can't use Mapsource. Getting back to the original 5.00.7 problem, I have been on the road for the past week (over 2000 miles). Mobile Pc would freeze every couple of hours. I finally went to start config and disabled all of the startup processes. Mobile PC stayed up for over 7 hours on the last day. There most be either a conflict with a process or possibly a memory leak. That would be for tech support to figure out. I am going to email them my latest error log.
