How to get pushpin names to all show
Loris
I have just recently gotten Streets and Trips 2009, and really like some of it's features. (Let me clarify that I am a real noob and haven't had any previous experience with Streets and Trips at all) Also, I am very happy to have found this forum. from my reading it appears that there are some very knowlageable folks here. Hope there is a solution for my dilemma.

I am trying to develop a way to use Streets & Trips to supplement my geocaching hobby by using my laptop for some of the navigating.
I am able to import the data I need just fine and all of the waypoints show as pushpins on the map. I can double click and get the information balloon to show. I can right click on the pushpin and get the name to show.

My question ... is there some keyboard shortcut, or menu selection that I can press to get all the pushpin names to show once? I know the map would be too cluttered in wide angle, but I would like to be able to do this once zoomed in appropriately ... like the maps do for the names of restaurants, etc.

Loris, welcome to the forums. I'm afraid I don't know how to accomplish what you need in Streets & Trips, but I do agree that the feature would be useful to many Streets & Trips users.

That's what I was afraid of. I guess I just have to set the names on them manually. At least the names stay up when I save the map and re-load it.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't know if it can be usefull, but it could be a feature on the wish list of S&T Keys. But the only thing i can imagine is maybe show them all (all pushpins), and not just a part of it which is much more complicated...

Well, it would be ok to show them all, as long as you could turn it on and off easily. Leave it off when wide view, and then toggle it on once you are zoomed in closer. That way you wouldn't have a cluttered map whilst looking at a larger area. As it is, if I set all the names I'm ok in a zoomed in mode, but when I zoom out, it is pretty bad. All the names overlap. I guess I am relating to google earth where I can set all my waypoints, (multipme sets) including names, with a file import for each set. I can turn them on and off with a mouse click in a menu. It's the same in it .. when wide angle, the little balloons overlap so I turn them off if needed. Click them back on, zoom in and there are all my waypoint names.

Anyway, I guess I'll have to learn different habits with S & T.

I think it could be feasable to turn them all ON/OFF with a touch of a key or something like this, but to be related to only the zoom portion could be much harder...

I am going to experiment this in a future S&T keys version...

You should not need to worry about only the zoomed portion. All the rest will be off the screen so it doesn't matter if they are all turned on at the same time as the zoomed portion.
