I have Win 2K Pro, SP4 with the latest updates and patches. Which version is the newest I can run? I see S&T 2009 for Vista and XP. I can run other programs that are for XP. Can I run this one?

S&T 2009 requieres win xp and there is no way to make it work under win2k. The 2009 version is my first choice because of good 3d navigation mode, speak street name, auto rerouting can be turned off. S&T 2007 if you cannot use the 2009 version is my 2nd choice. The 2007 version is working very well under win2k. The 2008 version has a missing feature that you cannot disable auto-rerouting when going off route. For myself it was a no go. If you can live with that, you can give it a try. I am not sure if the 2008 version can work with win2k...

There is no harm in trying the free 60-day trial version of Streets and Trips 2009. I suspect Streets & Trips 2009 may work on your Windows 2000, and perhaps only the text to speech will not work at first, but the TTS engine is just another free download from Microsoft website.

Wow....1.14GB Download. I have a slow Satellite connection, so I'll be here a while waiting for that.

There is no way. I have already tried this last fall. It will refuse to install and that's all. I have also tried to bypass the installer, and there is no way there too. S&T 2009 is simply using operating system call which are not there in windows 2000...

The text to speech thing was true for the previous version, but it is not the case anymore...

Ok, thanks! I stopped the download, which was going to take most of the day anyway. Thunderstorm caused loss of connection for a while. Thanks again!
