Anybody know where I can get ALK CoPilot Live Laptop Ver. 9 Software? Don't need the GPS receiver, just the CDs or Download.......

You might find someone on ebay selling an old copy.

I did a quick search on ebay and found a number of people selling CoPilot, including CoPilot 9.

I've been running v9 since it was released. I have no problems with it, except for the Live feature which we're already discussing. It definitely does most of what I want.

Yep, I first got Live LapTop 7 in 2003-04 to find places around San Antonio, Austin and Dallas, which served me very well, and shortly upgraded to Ver. 8 hoping for upgraded maps, which I still use, but need it to display Custom POIs correctly, which it don't. Tech support can't help fix it, their advice: "Upgrade to Ver. 11." I won't do that. Might try Ver.9 though. Don't need the "Live" function, was just playing with it to see if I could get it to work.......

With version 9 (if you get it), be sure to download the service pack for it. Otherwise any POI's that you save from within CoPilot will be in the wrong location. With the fix, when you save your current location, it does exactly that - it saves your current longitude/latitude. Without the patch, it saves the locations to the current zip code.

As for displaying them, I honestly don't know if it shows them on the map or not. When I need to add a POI to my trip (either custom or built-in), I just do a search for the POI name in the city, select it and go.

I have trouble displaying custom POIs I have added to the database. The map displays random characters and labels of my Custom POIs where standard POI labels should be when the map detail is increased to see the labels and the Standard POIs labels are turned off. Pretty confusing. Check it out on the attached screen shot. No help from Tech support.

I found Live Laptop 9. Turns out to be Truck Laptop 9, which is ok I guess. Having trouble installing it though. Making a 2nd run at it now. Was getting the "access violation" error after the install, program wouldn't go past the big blue screen. It is much bigger that 8 was, 1 gig. vs. 40 mb.
