How to remove Car Dealerships from Nearby Places in Streets & Trips 2007?

New to forum, looks like all kinds of info. I'm using MS Streets & Trips 2007 and was wondering how to eliminate all the car dealerships from the Nearby Places search. Can't believe there even there. New at trying something like this so is there template somewhere that replaces original, maybe some advise on using and installing templates .... TIA

You don't need to replace the original, just go to the "view" dropdown menu and click on Show or Hide Places. From the lists you will be able to customize what will show when you search for Nearby Places.

Really, how do I edit the list? The landmaks choice unfortunatley includes all of the car dealers and if I choose not to display landmarks then I don't see what I truley consider a landmark, like historical sites, parks, etc..

I am sorry, I see what you mean when you click on the tool bar display Nearby Places. The "Landmarks" includes dealerships. Unfortunately, I believe that display is not changeable. Someone else may know better, but I don't see anyway to make changes to that part of the program.

Car Dealerships infested the Landmarks category, if my memory serves me, in the 2005 version of Streets and Trips, and this issue was mostly corrected in the 2008 version (I may not be 100% correct on the version numbers, as I'm just going by my memory).

I just quickly performed a Find Nearby Places search of the Steeles Ave and Yonge St area in Toronto. That area is full of car dealerships, but the new version 2009 has none of them amongst Landmarks. All the dealerships are in the Auto Services category, where they belong.

Marvin, they did remove it from the "Landmarks" section in the 2008 version.

Can anyone say if I can replace the 07' template with 09', if so, what would the steps be and where to get it?
