Garmin Gps10x and PASSKEY
teresamarie
Ok all, i've tried the 4 zeros (0000) as a passkey for the 10x on this new device I purchased with garmin mobilePC, and it still doesn't recognize it as a valid passkey. Am getting tired of starting this thing every time!

Does the Garmin gps 10x even come with one? Sent an email to them, but haven't got back to me yet. Nothing in the documentation, even on garmin's online site.

Why can't they make these things user friendly?!

any other ideas?

The GPS10x unlike all other GPS units, uses a passkey of 1234.

Terry, is 1234 the code all Garmin Bluetooth GPS receivers use? All non-Garmin ones I've ever used required 0000, just like teresamarie attempted to use.

The only other Garmin Bluetooth receiver I know is the GPS10. I think it was 1234 but don't have it any more to check. At the time, it was the only BT receiver I had so I didn't notice if it was different. I am sure it is in the documentation but can't track that down right now.

HEY, it worked! amazing, and thank you all. I used to be a tech many years ago, but have not been following all this new fangled hardware and software. If it wasn't for sites like laptop gps world, I don't think we could get anything done with our puters!

Thankyou, thankyou!
