Mister Moonlight, you have to take a look at the Blueridge Parkway to get an idea what he's faced with. It's just not that simple. I thought it might be pretty easy until I looked at it. Boy, was I wrong! The only simple solution is if you could tell Streets&Trips to stay on a specific highway number. Anything else is just a whole bunch of work to force it to stay on that road.
You are right. For a small and straight route, this is not a problem, what i am usually doing is to drag at some spots on the route and it is working fine. But for a very long road like this in snake format, it is very hard to achieve without dragging a lot of point.
A new feature to stay on a road between 2 stop points (you place point a at the beginning and point b at the end of the road where you may allow the routing to choose a new road). This could solve this problem in a future release of S&T
