Odometer inaccuracy in Garmin Mobile PC
K9KTO
I'm finding that the odometer reading shown on GMPC is ~5-7% greater than the distance traveled. I'm using mile markers on the interstates I travel. I've compared results on different interstates in different states trying to weed out inaccurate mile markers. I'm using the USB GPS receiver from Microsoft Streets & Trips. Is the inaccuracy a function of the receiver, or in the way GMPC interprets it? I don't have an extra receiver handy to compare what effect the receiver has on the discrepant results.

I don't trust the odometer feature, I never use it. The above screen shot shows the inaccuracy is quite great. My maximum travel speed is not 200 kph, it is not much more than 100 kph in reality. I haven't traveled over 300,000 km over the past less then 12 months with GMPC. In fact I likely traveled only about 10% of that.
