Merging Streets and Trips files
bdawg7
OK, this is my first time ever posting or using any threads, sorry in advance if I dont follow protocol.

I just upgraded from 2008 to 2009 and have been manually inserting my pushpins along with 1 mile rings around each site (as does my client) and we need to merge our files to create one master file. Is there a way to do so without manually adding each others pushpins and rings?

Thanks in advance.
Larry
Hi bdawg7,

Welcome to Laptop GPS World.

The pushpin sets can be copy over to the master file pretty easily. Just open the legends and overview pane and right-click on the pushpin set and choose "Copy" from the context menu then open up the master file and do a paste (Ctrl+v).

You might try to copy and paste the rings but I'm not sure if you'll be able to multi-select. BikerJoe was also using rings for a map he was working on. You might read through the thread to look for tips.

Hope that helps.

Thx Larry, I will try this weekend. I appreciate the quick feedback and let you know the results.

Thanks Larry, very easy, it worked great. I just need to add my 1-mile rings around the sites, but that is much easier than plotting the sites.

Speaking of, where do I find the radius to insert...remember I just changed over from 2008 to 2009 and none of my tools are on the bottom of the page anymore, I am still getting adjusted to 2009 version.

Thanks again!!!

1. You could likely copy & paste even your rings.
2. The drawing toolbar is disabled by default in version 2009, if I remember correctly. Enable it via the main menu bar.

Thanks Marvin, I was able to enable the drawing toolbar. I was able to paste the pushpin (dots) but had to manually add rings to each.
