Streets & Trips 2009 maps same as 2008?

Just downloaded the trial version of Microsoft Streets and Trips 2009 and compared the map for Calgary Alberta (a fast growing city) with S&T 08 to see if upgrading would be worthwhile but found no changes at all. Then compared the map files and found the same file sizes and creation dates in both versions (eg. USA CD - 603,829 KB & date of 1/9/2008 09:11)! Similar for "USA HD" and others...

Now, I have noticed others commenting on map additions (Mexico and Ladysmith, BC IIRC) so cannot quite figure out what is happening here.

The difference in Navteq data between 2008 and 2009 for Ladysmith is night and day. They actually named all the streets and put in house numbers--about time! Unfortunately your mileage may vary as the Calgary maps were already fairly good. Vancouver has been quite usable for years.

1/9/2008 is correct for version 2009.

However, Streets & Trips 2008 was released in October 2007. Thus, it should not have a file date of 1/9/2008. Did your files get overwritten somehow? Compare against the original DVD, in: \Streets\MSMap\PFiles\MSMap\Data
