Printing MS Streets & Trips maps with certain POIs (points of interest) in it
thebobs
What I would like to do is print my route with certain points of interest in it. For example, if I'm heading to D.C., I'd like to print the route out with rest areas included (or additional POI, like restaurants). How can I achieve this instead of picking out spots here and there, zooming in on it and printing tons of maps?

I am not really sure I understand the question so I apologize in advance if this is not helpful.

If you are not talking about all POIs along the route but just some you might be interested in, try the following. With your planned route up and active, go to Find Nearby Places [Ctrl-D]. Select the kinds of places you want to consider in the "Show or Hide Places" box. In the "Around" box, select "Entire route", in the "Search" box, select the distance from your route (i. e., 0.2 miles) and then "Search." Then, either go through the list that gets created or troll along the route looking at the symbols and selecting as it pleases you. Add each one as a Stop (right-click on the POI->Route->Add as Stop) but don't put any time on it unless you really plan to linger. Then, all of these POIs will show as Stops on your printed directions and you can decide as you go whether or not you really want to stop. These POIs also will show as Stops on your map but you can also stick the POIs with pushpins for adding even more visibility.
