Has anyone experienced the problem I'm having with MapSource; trying to find "Nearest Places" ?

When I click on "Find Nearest Places", I get the SAME drop down list for every category and sub-category no matter what I try. I have attached 3 photos of some of the examples. As you can see, the list is the same for Lodging, Food & Drink & All Categories.

When I click on the "Find Places" tab, all the places come up in each category and sub-category correctly. I assume the places are in the program database, but the "Find Nearest Places" tab just does not work.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone with a suggestion or solution.

I have also attached a photo of the version of MapSource 6.15.5.

I get different results for each 'Place Category'. Are you clicking the Find button after changing the Place Category drop down?

When I click on "Find Places" mine works just like yours. It is when I click on; "Find Nearest Places" this happens.

Whoops, I forgot to say I do click on find.

Sorry, I missed the 'nearest' reference. I'll try again!

Edit. I tried the Find nearest and it worked ok too. And I see there is no find button on that tab. I also tried several maps but at my location.

I just realized you were using Vista (from the different coloured header) and I had tested under XP. Just in case it was different, I tried it on the laptop. It appears to work fine there too (W7 RC).

Coluld this be an issue of the version of MapSource you are using? I couldn't find 6.15.5 but one of the issues fixed in 6.15.6 looks interesting.

I downloaded the 6.15.6 update. That fixed it. I can't understand why I showed 6.15.5?

I can only guess I tried to download the update before and I received 6.15.5? I'm not sure there was such a thing.

I attached the photo again just so you didn't think I was crazy.

Sounds suspicious all right - maybe a glitch in the download. Glad to hear you resolved it.
