Hi,

I want to read data from Holux GM-210 USB device. I want to connect this to my laptop, which has Linux operating system (Ubuntu 8.10). I tried with gpsd software to read this device data. But I couldn't get the data and when I tried to use gpsprof -f cycle...its not fixing...i waited so much time...still its not working and not getting latitude and longitude value from my Holux GM-210 receiver to laptop. Please explain me how to do this task?

thanks in advance,

sincerely,
sravan

Hi Sravan,

Welcome to Laptop GPS World.

The Holux USB GPS receiver GM-210 is quite old now, and I suspect you may have difficult, if not impossible, time locating driver software compatible with Ubuntu 8.10. Perhaps you could look around for other USB GPS receivers that do have drivers available for your version of operating system.
