It can keep the planning mode, which *SHOULD* remain the way it is now, but add a good drivers interface that is small-display, touch-friendly.
Many people love Microsoft Streets and Trips because of its user interface which is easy-to-use on a desktop computer for trip-planning, etc. But at the same time many people turn to other software for the actual on-the-road use, because the user interface of Microsoft Streets & Trips is awkward to use for in-car navigation.
In the past few S&T versions we have seen some improvements, but I think what would stop customers looking for different software, and actually what could attract new customers is really just a very simple GUI that would resemble any of the many inexpensive PNDs (personal navigation devices) on the market today.
If the current S&T could by a click on a button be switched to an optional PND-like interface, no-one would be able to resist such software .
From the user perspective, such solution seems so simple, because S&T is so close to being perfect in most other aspects, and adding an optional very simple GUI seems like a very easy task.
I'm sure this is not the #1 wish of just malaki86, but also many others here at Laptop GPS World.
