Can End of Day stops be disabled in MS Streets and Trips?

This is not a big deal, however, being a control freak it is a minor annoyance. When I travel I sort of meander. I don't drive the same distance each day or start at a prescribed time each day. Under routing preferences, it asks you for your starting times and ending times, then it proceeds to to put an end of day way point on your route. These never coincide with my actual end of days. Can this feature be disabled?

I realize that this is more of a personal problem than an actual one.

I travel like that. I'm surprised that you would even bother with a whole-trip route, especially in something as highly structured as Streets&Trips.

As an incurable meanderer, I use my nav software (not S&T) for pre-trip planning to get a general idea of distances and potential driving times. I seldom save these exercises. Sometimes when we're stopped at night I'll do another bit of routing experimentation for the next day's possible destination(s) to get a feel for possibilities. Again, seldom saved.

When driving, I only do routing if I need help finding a specific place for fuel or lunch or the night's accomodations or getting through some unfamiliar city or finding my way to a point of interest like a mall so my wife can get a shopping fix.

I find autorouting invaluable for travelling but I rarely create and follow a route even for a full day. Never even tried for a full trip.

I disable the start/end of day by setting the starting/ending times both to midnight. It then just thinks you can drive 24hrs per day.

Also remember that you can always set your own End-of-day stops by going to Route Planner (Ctrl+R), right-clicking any of the stops there, and then selecting Schedule Stop. That will allow you to specify how many minutes, hours, or days you wish to spend there.

This type of functionality is not often seen in other products. That is one of many reasons why GPS on a PC is so attractive for some people.

I am long time user of Street Atlas and S&T. In S&T, the End-of-Day feature is ridiculous!
In over a million miles of travel in the US, Canada, and Mexico, I have never encountered a situation where a clock told me when to start in the morning and when to stop at night. If some travelers like this feature, which I sincerely doubt. leave it in, but just as an option.

Set your profile in the route options so that the "Start driving at" and "Stop driving at" are exactly the same.

I agree that one could probably live without the end of day waypoint on a route but I tend to use it when planning a trip. I input the start location and a proposed end location for the day and let S&T calculate the route. I've also set the beginning time and end of day time I'd like to use (7:00am to 4:30pm for example). If I calculate the route at this point I can quickly see if my proposed end location is beyond the desired end of day time, by looking for that end of day waypoint. If one isn't present I'm good. If one is present, then I have to either alter my planned number of hours driving or select an end spot that I can reach within my desired hours of travel.

I plan my whole route with proposed start of day and end of day and then re-set my start of day to my actual start time each day of the trip and at some point during the day I will adjust my stop time to what I find practical for that segment of the trip. I re-set the start time each day for 2 reasons, first is I start my day when I feel like depending on how far I want to go that day and secondly I can then monitor my projected distance to travel and proposed stops in close to real time. If you do not re-set your start time each day then if you originally set your starts for 7:30 and one of your days in the trip you get up early and start @ 6:30 then you are subtracting an hour from your interim stops all day long.
