I have downloaded the 2010 version and attempted to install it several times I have run the install program under normal user, ran it as administratior, restarted my computer with only necessary windows files. I have downloaded the program 3 times. Wall with the same results, when I try to start the program, it tells me that not all registry items copied properly and that I need to reinstall from the same location to correct the problem, and it doesn't fix the problems.

Hi dspolson,

:welcome: to Laptop GPS World!

Uggh. Sorry for the inconvenience you are having. Are you running Windows Vista?
Sometimes even though you are logged in as an Admin on the computer you may still need to right-click on the installer and choose "Run as administrator".

Are you running 64 bit? I believe I read in the fine print specs that the 2010 version is not compatable with a 64 bit machine.

Cheers,

Hi DPBBJC,

It is true that S&T 2010 is not compatible with the 64-bit edition of Windows XP or Windows Server 2003. Streets & Trips *IS* however compatible with both 32 and 64 bit versions of Vista and Win7.

I have downloaded Streets & Trips 2010 several times, and when I try to open it I get the message that it cannot run in less than 800 X 640. Any help is appreciated.

That is referring to the screen resolution of the computer.

What is the resolution of your computer screen?

Spadeflush,

My resolution is 1366 X 768. I'm running Windows 7.

Hmmm, that's odd. I turned my resolution down to 800x600 and it still loaded. I DO get that problem on my little Viliv S5 screen if I try to start Streets & Trips when the screen is in 270º mode. If I revert back to 0º ("Normal"), it loads fine.

In your case, something else seems to be going on that is outside my technical capabilities. Perhaps a call to MSFT customer support is in order.

You can run Streets and Trips on a Viliv S5?

Sure, why not?

I figured the screen resolution would have been too small for it. I don't get the best results with my Acer Aspire One.

1024x600 or 1024x768 resolution. I wouldn't want to 'compute' on it all day long (I prefer my 24" monitor for that), but it is certainly good enough for navigating and other traveling duties.

Find the file 'Streets.exe' in the folder where S&T was installed. Click it and see if the program starts properly.

I looked through everything in the file, and there was nothing there that read.. setup.exe......And I know there should be. What now?
