Find GPS Coordinates using Quick Find

Sorry if this has been suggested before.

You can use the find dialog with the Lat/Long tab to find GPS coordinates today.

I would like this feature to be extended to the quick find dialog box on the main interface/toolbar.

Google is able to interpret lots of different coordinate formats so it would be nice not only if it was implemented but I would hope it would be robust to support multiple formats and/or provide best guess.

Typing in Lat Lon in the quick find would drop a pushpin at that location like the current quick find does.

Hi Curt

I totally agree. This is a great little feature request. Did you know that pressing Ctrl+Alt+C will copy the lat/long coordinates to your clipboard in the 2010 release?

More about that here: How to copy latitude and longitude (lat/long) coordinates in Streets & Trips 2010

Hi Larry,

Thanks for the response. I didn't know about the Ctrl+Alt+C feature.

Seems like maybe removing the degree symbol might be a good thing though. It's nice to have but most things you paste it into will probably barf on that symbol.

Great blog BTW.

Yeah, I can see why one would want that removed in the future. I was just happy to squeeze this extra feature in and it still beats the manual re-typing method.

Yeah it's major win that's for sure. Thanks for keeping on top of this app.
