How to start with a selected pane open in Streets & Trips 2010
bbowers
When I toggle the "Location and Scale" toolbar off and then save my settings, either within the Options/Map or as my default "Template" it doesn't work. The next time I open S&T the "Location and Scale" toolbar is back on.

Am I missing something or has something changed?

I did a little testing and here's how mine's working right now.

- I turned off that toolbar and then did a save settings now on the Options/Map screen.
--- Exited Streets, ran it again and it came up with that toolbar off.

- Turned the toolbar on but did not save options.
--- Exited Streets, ran it again and it came up with the toolbar on.

It looks like Streets pretty much ignores that option in the saved options and overrides it with whatever condition the toolbar was in when you exited it last -- off if it was last off and on if it was last on. At least that's the way mine is working.

Yes, I had tried that also. I tried it again after reading your post and did not get the same thing as you. Doesn't matter if I do a Save Now, a Save when Close, or Save Template. Could be my computer I guess.

It's not that big a deal, but when something changes from what used to work on earlier versions it just seems like, oops they goofed again.

I didn't do a "Save..." of any sort. I just turned off the Location & Scale toolbar and exited. When I ran Streets again it came up with it off.

If I exited (not saving anything) with it off it ran again with it off. Exited with it on, comes back with it on.

So I just tried saving a map, turned off the toolbar, saved again, exited. When I ran Streets again it came up with the toolbar off.

I just used the Streets shortcut to launch it each time so it runs with the default map display. I did not double-click a .EST file to launch it. Don't know if that makes a difference.
