Garmin Mobile PC with Centrafuse
malaki86
I just finished getting my laptop & touchscreen hooked back up. I just received my Garmin Mobile PC software. I already owned Centrafuse, and downloaded a free plugin for it to allow me to use Mobile PC "inside" of it. The plugin adds an on screen keyboard, so I can control it 100% without a keyboard.

I'll get a couple of screenshots together and post them. I'll also take photo's of my setup once I get everything mounted in the truck.

From what I see so far, it looks like a great combo.

Thanks for posting it. Keep us informed how you like it. I bet a lot of Mobile PC users wish Garmin would add an OSK to the product.

So far, so good. I had a small problem with my touchscreen on the first day, but that was only because the double-sided tape for the mount was low-grade. It lasted about 8 hours then came loose. That was soon fixed with a couple of screws.

With Centrafuse, I run a plugin, Save Location, for it that allows me to save the current location in my own format to a CSV file. I've imported them into Mobile PC a few times manually, but today remembered a small application called GPSBabel. I configured it, then copied it's command line format. I now have that running in a scheduled task every night at 1am. So, any new locations I save during the day will be added into Mobile PC for the next day.

The only small gripe I have with the Mobile PC plugin for Centrafuse is that at the moment it will only run at 800x600. Even on the 7", that's pretty blocky. The plugin author is working on a new release that will allow it to run at pretty much any resolution.
