Just got it, thanks Jucabras. It seems to work fine with the maps I've got, BlueChart Americas, MetroGuide Canada v5, City Navigator 209, Ibycus & Garmin Topo's

I can confirm that at least one of the outstanding issues since 6.14.3 is still not fixed. That's the distortion as you move to higher latitudes. Still out of whack.

It is really strange to me that they had it right in 6.13.7 and earlier and now they can't figure out how to do it any more.

I`m still working with double Mapsource instalation... the latest in *.gdb files... and when want to finish any work and finally want to transfer... the only manner is to save in *.gpx ; but with de V. 6.13.7... the crashing bugg still persists...!!!

By the way....

I have forgotten the details of your problem. Are you doing the planning in 6.13.7 and then trying to transfer stuff to Mobile PC with the newer version of Mapsource? Or have I got it wrong?

Maybe if you could link to a discussion of the problem here or else make a short description to refresh my memory I can take another look and see if there is a different way.

Hi Ken...
Thanks for asking...
I always work on gdb`s files because are shorter files and if they have many other associations (like sounds, jpeg photos and proximity alerts) they open sooner than gpx`s...

Always did this way... but since V. 6.13.7 , newer versions have many bugs... one very important is that when finishing any edited work o working with a saved one in gdb ; and wanting to transfer with Poi Loader(better soft 2 transfer wpts with associted files) you need a gpx file...
And MapSource doesn`t end fine.First doesn`t write itself the .gpx extension and if you write it , it may crash with abnormal ending and shutting off.It makes a Cero byte file or it could make a gpx file that lately couldn`t recognize himself...

I`m tired of the half ended Garmin products...
Dismarriages between Garmin softs...etc...etc

No problems transferring maps...
Wpts either.
Routes... doing one transfer at a time...sometimes could...sometimes could not. This gpx absurd... thats why I`m lately moving to Núvis Series (owner of a six month old 205w) and fits my willings as a companion on my travels...

I`ve heard maybe on december a new upgrade may be 4 GMPc... it will be the time I`ll decide which will be my preferred navigation manager
Nice to talk and hear you

Best 4 all

I'm not having any trouble saving waypoints to GPX using 6.15.7 (and 6.15.6) and then using POILoader to load them as custom POIs to Mobile PC and to my eTrex Legend HCx.

Have you tried just cutting/pasting the waypoints you want in the GPX file into another copy of Mapsource and then saving them to GPX?

I don't do very much of the kinds of things you are doing in Mapsource so my saved GDB files are very simple. But I don't usually use them for this purpose. I normally make sure that my Mapsource workspace contains just the waypoints I want in the GPX file and then Save As GPX. That is, the copy of Mapsource I work from does not have a GDB file open.

I open the GDB file containing the waypoints I want, select just the ones I want and copy them to the clipboard. Then I open another copy of Mapsource by just clicking on the icon so there's no file open in it and paste the waypoints into it.

Or you can close Mapsource and run it again without a file and paste the waypoints. I save the GPX file from that copy. I don't have any problems with that. I've done it lots of times recently. I'm working on creating a whole bunch of points on the local golf courses so I can use my Legend HCx as a golf GPS for yardages. I edit the points in Mapsource to add the golf icon and generally clean things up, then save to GPX and run them through the POILoader to put them on my handheld. As I check and test each course I probably go through this at least half a dozen times or more in an hour.

That's why I think you could do it if you get the waypoints into a clean copy of Mapsource without a GDB file open and then save them to GPX. That way you can still store everything in the GDB file and work with it in the GDB file but when you need to save stuff in a GPX file, just copy it to a freshly-opened copy of Mapsource to do the GPX save.

I hope that makes sense.

I promise I`ll try your suggestion...
Still four months to my summer hollidays... I`m planning routes and alternative target cities... I`ll work on them the way you`ve said.

Have a nice weekend
