The find function used to find them in Streets & Trips 2007 - RV parks etc.
2009 and 2010 don't.

If you mean Find Nearby Places, I compared 2005 to 2010 and the results were similar. The difference I saw was 2005 had a 'Show Hide Places' button whereas 2010 has a 'Categories' button. Campsites are under the 'Places' tab. Make sure you have it checked.

Could you provide a specific example of what Microsoft Streets and Trips cannot find? I'm able to search for campgrounds (the Campgrounds category needs to be enabled in the Find Nearby Places). The built-in Live Search can find even more of them, if you happen to be connected to the Internet at the time of search.

NO i do not mean find nearby places.
near the top is a box with binoculars next to it.
THAT is the function that sadly has been much reduced.

Could you describe step-by-step what you are doing, what results you are expecting, and what results you are getting, in a way we can reproduce it?

simple
go to the box next to the binoculars.
type in the name of an RV park say RV Park of Portland.
see it does not find anything but cities.
2007 would find the park (yes often in the wrong place)

I certainly have to agree with anon that the find function in at least the 2009 Edition of S&T is not as robust as in previous editions. If I import a list of campgrounds I can find them with the find function but it will not find those campgrounds that are natively encoded in the program. Not sure about 2010 edition.

You can do you own master list/lists of campgrounds you wish to use (Corps of Engineers, Passport America, State Parks, or others) or simply make use of lists that are currently compiled at Discovery Owners website. Of course, if you are using the 2010 edition you could simply use the new template that is available in another thread on this site. However, importing any POI's that you wish to use is done from the Import Data Wizard.

If you have a file with information in it that you want to import just select Data > Import data wizard (if the data is in anything but a GPX file) or Data > Import GPX file if the data is in a GPX file.
