I have both Garmin BlueChart AMR v5.5 and v9.0 on my navigation laptop.

My latest download of (discontinued) Garmin nRoute unzipped and placed itself automatically in the v5.5 version on that laptop.

Has anyone had any problems copying the nRoute file from the v5.5 directory and pasting it into the BlueChart AMR v9.0 directory?

In other words, does nRoute still work with v9.0 as it does, of course, with v5.5?

LATE NEWS:

nRoute is now working with BlueChart AMR v9.0. Turns out that I needed to open nRoute first and then select the BlueChart - at least that resulted in success.

The ability of nRoute to use a mapping product is based on a registry setting, not which folder it is in. The installation of BCAMR should have placed a registry entry at HKLM/SOFTWARE/Garmin/MapSource/Families which would have information showing the folder BCAMR is installed in.

Does nRoute show a dropdown for map selection?

Do both the products show in MapSource?

As to the location of nRoute and AMR BlueCharts in the registry, nRoute is showing under HKLM/Software/Garmin and the two BlueChart versions are showing under HKLM/Software/Garmin/MapSource/Families. Sounds correct, does it not?


nRoute DOES show a dropdown for both applications.

Both versions show in MapSource.

So, your point about where nRoute is located is correct.

I'll experiment some more to see if I can get nRoute working when I have BlueChart AMR v9.0 selected as the application.

If BCAMR 9 shows in the nRoute dropdown, What is it that does not work when you select it?

Hi Terry,

What was not working was the acceptance of the computer program of the signals from the GPS 76 when I opened the v9.0 Map application BEFORE I opened nRoute.

When I open nRoute first, the computer accepts the GARMIN string from the GPS 76 and "All is Well."
