I am new to Microsoft Streets and Trips, and I have a question that is bugging me. I set up a template with my push pins and my speed and fuel items. I have it set up to where I only go 300 miles in a day. The problem comes when I want to go farther one day to be able to stop at a point I know. I can not figure out how to move the daily stopping point to where I want to stop without messing with the rest of the trip. Some days you might want to go further and some days less. Is it possible to move the end of days point?

I set my speed so that when I set my day to 9AM to 3PM with rest stops at every 2 hours for 30 Min I travel 300 miles. Since 6 hours -1 hour for the two rest stops = 5 hours, and 300 miles / by 5 hours = 60 MPH average. At least that is how I did it for 300 miles a day. Since I am retired that is good for most days but some days I want to go further for a nightly stop at a place I know.
If you plan a trip that exceeds your template's Route Option for the "End driving at" setting all that will happen is that you produce a route that includes in the Driving Directions a line that says "End of Day" and then it resumes with a new day ("Day Two"). It will resume the Driving Directions with the the time that you set for "Start driving at" in the Route Options.
Now, clearly, you are not going to pull off the highway and just stop there overnight. So all you have to do is to go into your Route Options for this trip only and reset the "End driving at" option to some time later than when the route plan gets you to the destination you desire. This will apply only to the open map and route and will not affect your template so long as you do not save it as a template.
Any changes that you make to Route Options will apply only to that particular route. The next time you want create a new route, just go back to the previous template which will give you exactly the same starting settings as before.
Now, clearly, you are not going to pull off the highway and just stop there overnight. With your template set to end the driving day at 3 p. m. and your first day stop-over target of Akro, Ohio, S&T would have you stopping on the Pennsylvania Turnpike when the clock hits 3 p. m. You probably don't want to stop there. See attached file "Baltimore to Akron."
However, if you simply reset the "End driving at" Route Option to 5 p. m., the Driving Directions will continue on until you get to Akron in one day. See attached file "Baltimore to Akron2."
Open a new file from the original template and you will be starting over with the original settings.
