It would be nice if in the route planning options you could add your speed in MPH like other mapping programs. I do not like the faster of slower that Microsoft Streets and Trips has. You really have to play with it to get it to reflect your driving style. I drive a motorhome and I only drive at 60 tops. Even though I have set my limited hwy speed to the slowest setting all I can get is 60 MPH avg.

I agree! In setting up my first trip, I find the program setting me up to go about 80 miles further than I want to go, and take me from NYS to Port Aransas in only 3 days. I'm thinking a 4 day trip to get there. Will just play it by the ear and see how it goes. Does not even let me adjust the hours to compensate for that.

If the route chosen by S&T does not match the roads you want to use, you can drag it to the appropriate roads. You can also adjust daily start and stop times or select a rest stop every x number of hours to make the trip take the time you think it should.

Terry,
The route is good. And I already have planned in the appropriate rest stops. It just has my average mph a lot faster than my old 454 powered motorhome should be running. Has me averaging 69 mph with the "Route Option" driving speeds all set at the lowest speed setting. I might be able to average the 69 mpg in my Jetta, but not in the motorhome. Would have to be running 80 mph in places to do that.

I believe the "Route Option" driving speeds should be able to be adjusted down to a minimun of 55 mph which would be more realistic for a motorhome or heavy duty truck. Something the programmers should have considered.

As MyHomestone pointed out, "It would be nice if in the route planning options you could add your speed in MPH like other mapping programs.".

I have at least 4 mapping programs on this computer and have not seen an option to set driving speeds in any of them. Maybe I am not looking hard enough. I do have S&T 2004 on another computer which allows you to set speeds though. I checked my Garmin PNDs and they don't have that option either, although they are pretty fair at getting ETA right on medium distance trips.
