Check the threads associated with your post listed below for more discussion on this device. I think the default data rate (38,400 bps) is higher than S&T will accept (4800 bps). There may be software included with your device to change its firmware to 4800 bps.

Terry,

thanks for the reply. My issue is beyond this, i have already changed the bps to 4800 and its connected to S&T. the issue is that S&T in the gps pane it says receiving data how ever it doesn't connect or getting enough information from the satellites and doesn't find my location.
i am in under clear sky and clear weather.

this model has its own battery and the logger does pick up my location and tracks everything when not connected to a computer, so it must be some config (I Geuss) with S&T

When you used the software to change the bit rate, did you check the refresh rate as well? S&T only supports a refresh rate of 1 Hz. This can also cause issues.

... also, when you say you've changed it to 4,800 bps, can you tell us how you changed it? Did the receiver come with a software utility for this purpose?

The only other thing I could think of is the data has extra strings S&T doesn't like. I think xport or GPS Gate is capable of dealing with this.
