| How to read the raw GPS data of a handheld GPS connected to a laptop PC
Hi. This is my first post and I am looking for any advice about how to read a handheld GPS unit connected to a laptop through a USB port. What I am looking for is to read the GPS raw data, basically using the handheld GPS as just an antenna. Where I am going with this is 2 fold - first I am trying to develop an application for GPS, and secondly I want to use my laptop as a GPS unit without having to go out and buy another antenna (the GPS I have already has an antenna). So the second part of why I want to do this will also require some laptop GPS software. My handheld GPS is a Garmin nuvi 750. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Hi Mookie, Scroll to the bottom of this page and look at the list of similar threads. Take a look at "Can the Nuvi 550 supply live GPS data to a Windows PC application?" The 550 cannot but yours might and there are links in some of the posts to help find out how to do it. ...ken... |
