Having trouble importing to Streets & Trips

I am trying to import a file from the Discovery Owners website to Microsoft Streets & Trips 2009. I have tried it two ways and am not having any luck.

1. I downloaded the Microsoft file from Discovery owners site. I then unziped it. Then went to S&T, found the file and tried to open it. I got the message that I need to use a newer version of the program. Am not sure if it means a newer version of the file or of S&T.

2. I then downloaded the txt file. Unzipped it and placed it on the desktop. Went to S&T, import wizzard, then searched for the file. Found the desktop, but my file wasn't there. Nowhere to be found, however, if I look on my desktop, I can see it there and open it.

Any ideas?

1. Probably for s&T 2010

2. Did you change the 'File of type:' dropdown to 'Text files'?

It often helps to uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types' on the View tab of 'File Options' in Control Panel. Then you will know what type of file you are looking at and can take the appropriate action.
