Streets and Trips - import custom symbols

Streets and Trips 2010 Help covers this quite nicely. Do a search for "custom symbol."

Hi Ken,

You might also benefit from reading the post we did on this topic here:
Using Custom Pushpin Icons in your Maps.

If you want a head start on custom symbols you can download an .est map file that is full of them from here. After you've create a few yourself - it really is an easy way to personalize your map. I tend to use them all the time as I like my custom icons better than many of the built in icons.

A related question...

Is there a way to remove previously imported custom pushpins?
Larry
Great question - there are at least a couple ways to get rid of the unwanted sets.

1) just right-click on the name of the previously imported custom pushpin set (in the legends and overview pane) and click "Delete" from the context menu that pops up.

2) click the name as above then press the Delete key on your keyboard.

Keith, thanks to your video I've just learned something new. I didn't know it was possible to turn off the transparency of custom symbols!

A link to the video has been added to the Streets & Trips Tips & Tricks page.
