I just finished my home made netbook mount and have some pics.
I will be adding some velcro just incase of a bad bump. This is a 10 inch HP netbook and the battery that drops down below case is what locks it in place.

Nice work on that. How stable is the PVC once the laptop is on it?
It is a NETBOOK which is half the weight of my laptop.
It is stable enough but in a 4x4 F250 I expected worse.
I can swivel it to passenger side just by turning the coupling loose.
I used primer and glue on all joints so there is no movement.
I may make some modifications as time goes on cause I am never satisfied :rofl"
