Looking for GPS software and hardware solution for my HP TM2 tablet PC
Bryanspins
I just got a new HP TM2 tablet (4GB Win7, 500GB HD, BT, 3G) and want to run a robust GPS solution. I would prefer to use my BT-20 because I have it, and not a lot of extra cash after buying the laptop. I travel in the southeast daily (Atl) and nationally 5-10x/yr and to Europe 1-2x/year.

It seems that Streets & Trips always wants another GPS BT receiver, and not the BT 20 (am I correct?)

I also have a 3G wired amplifier and a truckers antennae, but now no adapter on the TM2 to plug it in to :0( (Old card was a Sierra 860)

I'd like to spend as little as possible to get connected, yet get as robust info as possible by 3G link.

Suggestions? (Hardware?, Software?)

TIA

Apparently the BT-20 will work with S&T if you download a free supplementary program from Delorme.

Thanks, I will chase that for a while.
I seemed to find solutions, but after reading them (HP site) they always seem to have problems.
Is Streets & Trips the most robust? (in your opinion?)

Ahhh , can't do this (I found it a few nights ago) because I am running 64 Bit Pro version. (though I do have a 32 bit emulator indicated on some processes...

It gives me an error that tells me it's not 64 bit compatible....
Then won't let me install.

Yeah, you're going to have more problems just like that with the 64-bit version of Windows 7. There are virtually no drivers being made for older devices and few, if any, of the older 32-bit drivers will work. Sometimes you might get lucky by finding a Vista 64-bit driver and, if you do, it might work okay.

Thanks,

I will chase it, and post if it works.

I just hate to buy a Garmin or the less than optimal MS USB device (per the reviews here).

I also hate to carry 2 devices if i only need one good one.
Part of the reason for the TM2 was to have a 12 touchscreen GPS map with all the goodies not in dedicated GPS devices, and with many of the features not planned in the new Apple slate.
