Open Source software needed to connect my data from GPS receiver to Google Earth
cristiano620
Is there anybody can provide a Open Source software that could connect my data from GPS receiver to Google Earth? Thanks

By 'open source', do you mean software that would allow you to contribute to further development by having the source code; or do you mean 'free'?

Do you want to connect to Google Earth for realtime navigation?

Or do you just want to display track log data on a Google Earth map after a trip?

As matter of fact, I just want display my current position coming from GPS receiver. I think earthbridge is quite good software, however I want edit it and add something more. Thanks for your attention

GooPS is another possibility but I don't think it is open source.

Have you looked at World Wind and all of its add-ons to see if there are possibilities?

I still appreciate your concern. In fact, I just want make a small program such as plug-in sort of things. I got GPS receiver and it comes out data in propriate form, display on google earth. That's why I need a program rather than software cause I am learning how to do it right now. To be simplist, to be easy. Thanks

If you do a search for laptop gps I think you'll find some programs that meet your needs.

Do you want an "open source" program so you can learn how to program or do you just want a program that you can use and "open source" means "free or inexpensive"?

I'll look back through the links I've found and find the one that had an "open source" program. I don't recall right now and it's time to log off.
