I am traveling through some countries in Asia with a laptop and GPS data logger. I would like to publish my GPS track to a Website so my folks back home can see my progress. Can anyone recommend a simple method? I have used Google and only found some fairly complex solutions. Any advice appreciated.

Franson GPSGate can do GPS tracking like you're wanting.

Thanks, but it doesn't look that simple to me unless I'm missing something on their website?

If they could install Google Earth you could just email them track files that they could open in Google Earth. What format(s) does your data logger software save the track files in? Google Earth can open GPX, LOC, KML, MPS and KMZ files.

That would be "too technical" for them, just want to put a bookmark to a URL on the desktop for them to click on whenever they want to see where I am.

Take a look at GPS Visualizer. Here's a discussion about how to use it on GPSGate's site. You should be able to do it with any track log if it's in the suitable format.
I just helped install a 1.2 meter dish on our police department's mobile command post. We have high speed Internet, 8 separate phone lines a a lot more. It ain't cheap, though.
