First thanks for the quality of your forum and your answers.

Here is my problem: I have a GPS USB dongle from Canmore, model GT-730F, and I don't know how to make it work with Microsoft AutoRoute. I downloaded Gpsgate, but I don't know how to configure it because the setup wizard doesn't work.

Can someone guide me step by step please?

Edit: I tried to configure it, and it says in the inputs tab: "Running OK, unknown data is coming in".

What can I do?

The wizard is somewhat limited in what bit rates it will search for. I will assume from your message you manually set up GPS Gate and know the COM port your Canmore is on . You might want to try the settings button on that same Input tab and check it is set at 9600 bps (baud rate).

Thanks for the fast reply, I already tried to change the baud rate, but it didn't change anything, I also tried to re-initiate it to the industrial state, but it is still the same.

Any ideas ?

Does the Canmore come with setup software? Maybe it is not in NMEA mode and needs to be reset.

I note the Canmore plugs directly in to the laptop USB port. It probably would help to put it on an extension to get it further away from the laptop. Still, I don't think you would get that particular message from GPS Gate just because it couldn't obtain lock.

I also see from the basic manual that the bit rate is 38400 bps. Did you try that rate in GPS Gate?

The picture of a laptop in that manual (page 8) sure looks like the HP tablet I use or an older model. I can't identify the navigation program though.

I see a download for changing the bit rate. You might want to try that and see if the GPS can be set to 4800 bps. Then you wouldn't require GPS Gate. See 'configure serial port_baudrate.zip' in the following link
