Maximum verbosity

For the third time, the audio turn instructions have stopped being played automatically. I can press the space bar and hear them, but I keep missing turns if I'm not constantly checking my laptop. Does anyone know a setting for this, or am I left with reinstalling, again.

MS Streets and Trips 2010 on a Toshiba Qosmio running Vista Home.

I can't remember the right F key, try either F5 or F8, I think. So when you have route active try the F key & you should see the speaker top left become un-muted!
