How to use City Navigator North America map in Garmin Mobile PC?
Evolved_St8
Is there any way I can use my City Navigator North America map in my Garmin Mobile PC? I want to use Mobile PC because it integrates seamlessly with Centrafuse Auto, which is my car PC software.

Garmin Mobile PC comes with a basemap and CNNA NT 20xx.x. If you do not have those maps, you don't have a legal copy of Mobile PC.

If you are using Garmin Mobile PC with a GPS included, you can buy an upgrade from Garmin to the latest maps. If your Mobile PC is the version without a GPS included, you can only add maps that do not have a lock code such as US Topo maps. You can not transfer a locked map from MapSource to Mobile PC.

I see what you are saying. I'm not sure what to do about it. It didn't come with a GPS unit. Came as software only.

Then it came with CNNA NT of some version after 2009.

If you have purchased a legal copy of Mobile PC it already has the City Navigator North America maps preloaded in it.

Do you also have a DVD version of City Navigator North America? Is it newer than the maps in your Mobile PC?

Are you talking about Mobile PC or City Navigator North America? Both of them come on DVD.

If it's City Navigator, it should say somewhere on the DVD what version it is, like v8 or 2009 or 2010. If you have loaded it onto your PC, when you look at it in Mapsource it will say what version it is on the title bar of the Mapsource window.
