Can AutoRoute 2010 and Streets & Trips 2010 be on the same computer?
jacob11
Hi,

I already have Microsoft Streets and Trips 2010 for USA. I am going to Europe, and I bought Microsoft AutoRoute 2010.

Should I uninstall Streets & Trips 2010 for USA in order to install Microsoft AutoRoute 2010 for Europe?

Can I use both together?

Thank you,

Yes.

Does it mean that I should install "AutoRoute 2010" as if there is no "Streets & Trips 2010" installed?

Should I do something different comparing with clean installation?

Thank you,

Hello Jacob,

The two programs will coexist. Just install Autoroute normally.

Jakob, welcome to the forum. Some of us have even multiple versions of each of the programs installed on our computers. You should have no problem with it either. And remember, a GPS receiver from one of the programs will work just fine with the other program. No need to buy the version with another GPS unit. Buy just the software.

The two programs will even coexist to the point of being able to have them both active in side-by-side windows, subject to the usual Windows focus protocols. This would allow you to do such things as copy pushpins from one map and paste them onto the map in the other application, although I am not sure why one would want to do that. But, at least, it is possible.

And if you are using S&T Keys free add-on, just configure in S&T Keys option panel which one you want to control (S&T or AR) and it will change on the fly. Yes both 2010 applications can coexist correctly.

I have both installed on mine. Just make sure they install into different directories which should be an issue.
