Garmin Mobile PC with 10x Discontinued

I am confused as to whether the 2 unlock codes in MapSource would affect the transfer to Mobile PC. I'm willing to learn though.

I don't think the use of MapSource is necessary the next time. One of the selections for an update download involves saving the part that lets you use it with another device. Can't remember when the code is available but we should know pretty soon. I'm sure another update is just around the corner.

I'm still not sure I understand what you're saying. I do know that each of the three quarterly updates I've got for my Nuvi have different unlock codes. So Brad would still have to download and install one copy of a quarterly update, say the one for the Nuvi, which will automatically unlock itself for the Nuvi and then manually add the unlock code for that version to Mapsource for the 20x.

I'm saying that one download should allow a direct installation to the Nuvi and Mobile PC without the use of MapSource if you have lifetime subscriptions for both.

I think it would be this option; the one I starred.

Thanks. I haven't looked that closely at the Advanced Options page, or whatever it's called now, to recall what all the possibilities are.

That would be even easier than manually adding the second unlock code to Mapsource and using it to compile and install to the second device.

Too bad Garmin techs don't take more time to understand their own products rather than simply telling a customer, "Let us know how it works out".

So, for Brad, to your original question, I've got one product in Mapsource with three unlock codes. So that's not an issue. But as Terry said, you might not even have to use Mapsource for the second install.

Unless Brad has already done the download (as I suspect he has) and wasn't aware of that option. I was suggesting for next time!

The GMPC and 10x bundle is on sale again at DrivenGPS. They are having trouble making up their minds or just can't move them at $118

That link is the old GPS10 with Mobile XT and nRoute, not the Mobile PC package. At least that's what the page you linked to says.

Oops! Maybe that's where they went wrong with the original offering.

Yeah, I'll bet the previous sale was supposed to be on that package and they got it wrong and did the Mobile PC package instead. That would explain the short time it was on sale.

Two simple questions for anyone re. Garmin Mobile PC. I have bought from Amazon and installed Mobile PC with USB GPS receiver. Works fine. Questions, Will Garmin Mobile PC Europe version work on the same computer? Is it just maps that are added to the existing (North American) program or a stand alone program?

Thanks, jh

As you have the version with a GPS, you should be able to add Europe maps to the same program. Check your mygarmin account for more details.

Hi John,

As Terry said, it's just the maps. If you look on your MyGarmin account for the GPS20x you should see the availability of City Navigator Europe maps for it.
