Hello all,
I am new here and have a problem.
I have searched here and at MS Knowledge base with no answer.
I have Microsoft Streets and Trips 2006 with GPS. It is on a Toshiba Laptop running Windows XP SP2.
I have been using the software since 2006 with no problems.
I went to create a route yesterday and my map cmes up as Black, White and light blue as the below thumbnail shows.
What I have done:
My computer has been running slow so I did a clean up of the registry last week and also went into services.msc and msconfig and stopped items that appeared to me to be un-necessary.
I did an uninstall then reinstall and no change.
Could I have changed something in my configuration that ias necessary to S&T? I probably have done something wrong.
I'm not sure how to fix the above issue. Is anything else black & white, or just Streets and Trips?

Hi Marvin
Just S&T is black and white. I was hoping the reinstall of the software would have fixed the problem. Do not see anything in S&T to change screen color.
I suspect it's a Windows issue, rather than S&T issue. Do you see some other programs black & white, too?

Marvin,
Yes I agree. I also think it is windows related. I just went and opened up several different programs on my laptop and all are in colour as they should be.
Could I have done something in the services.msc or msconfig files when I was messin' with them?
Perhaps it could, I don't know. A couple of things to consider trying would include to 1) try a restore point, and/or 2) try Streets & Trips under a different user account. (Sorry, I cannot think of anything better to suggest at the moment.)

Thanks for the help Marvin. I am going to try to make changes to the 2 MS files I altered.

Went into both mentioned pieces of software and allowed everything to run/start. No change.
Went and got trial version of S&T8 and it also is Black & White. It has to do something with my XP colour schemes. Any thought on which setting it might be?
Thanks

Try to press Left Alt + Left Shift + Print Screen, then press Yes. (Doing it again will revert to the previous display setting).

YOU THE MAN Marvin!!!
It worked. Thank you very kindly.
I am going to Chicago on business and wanted the use of GPS driving directions. Now I have it and in COLOUR!!
So I must have set something wrong somewhere?? Does this little trick go back to the factory display setting?
Thanks again

ichard, I'm glad it helped. The keyboard shortcut Left Alt + Left Shift + Print Screen toggles the Windows built-in high contrast mode for visually impaired users.
