iGuidance Open Source?
inetquestion
If the PocketPC version is going to be discontinued, is there any chance they will open source it? The thing that has always bugged me about the PC version is that it will not read from WAB/contacts, where the PPC version did, which made sync'ing them pretty easy.

Will the new maps work on the previous version?

Who is the actual maker of this software? I have seen many branded versions of this and wasn't sure if iNav is the original creator, or just another OEM for someone else... Whoever is the upstream maker, are they pulling the plug on it as well?

Hi Inet,

Re: Open Source. I don't know if they have any plans in this area.

Re: New maps compatibility with older software version(s). In the past, users tested moving new map files to old software with no success. I suspect this will still be the same when iGuidance 2011 comes out.

Re: Who is the developer. iGuidance is based on the Intellinav/Netropa software. Yes, if iNav says the retail PPC PDA version is being discontinued, it means Intellinav is discontinuing it.
