Approximate Release Date of Streets and Trips 2011

Steve:

I have bought every release of S&Trips as far back as I can remember. Many years, but I can't remember the first one. Some of that "someheimers" coming on

Like Marvin has said this is possibly the latest release we have seen. However, as he has also said, "it is in the works" (my words) and I'm pretty sure he knows what he is talking about. .

Have faith

A fellow Missourian

Here's a quote from another thread:

Of course, perhaps he really didn't know what was happening? Or maybe he decided not to tell me the truth for some reason? But that is what he said.

MS Streets and Trips 2011 sometime after January 1 ...

Marvin:

Thanks for the info. I'll not waste my time looking for it this year.

Marvin:

A P.S. on this subject. I wonder if it will be different here in the states. I'm pretty sure the "Windows 7, three licenses" promotion is coming to an end here.

The best way to monitor the S&T release is just to keep an eye on this site. Marvin does a product review of new features within hours of each version's release. This is the best release intelligence you can get.

Spades Flush:

I should have said I won't go to M.S., Amazon, etc. to look.

I intend to watch here as you said. I'm usually here a couple times a week.

Thanks for the tip.

As soon as v.2011 becomes available, all the 2011-related threads will be updated with that information, so you will receive an automated email notification of a new reply to the thread you've posted to. A new 2011 review will be posted, as well as I'm sure other new 2011-related posts and threads will follow. Chances are that a frequent visitor to Laptop GPS World will know about it before an official MS press release hits the media.

Marvin: Thanks ! Mike

I think you're right Steve. Let's hope they are going to do a release soon. Maybe all the requests we have made are being implemented and we will see the new super GPS that leaves others behind. One that recognizes your computer time and adjusts accordingly, and maybe time zone recognition as well as some really useful additions. We demand a lot, so I guess sometimes we have to just be patient to get it.

I decided to do a web search and saw one "torrent" site offering S&T 2011 already...???
(I neither use nor condone the use of "torrent" sites so won't link the page)

... and I'm sure it's not S&T 2011, they just want you to download what ever it is that they have.

I recall a few years back many torrent sites were offering AutoRoute 2008, and later AutoRoute 2009, even though those two versions never existed.

I bet you can find many of these sites offering even Microsoft Money 2011, even though the product discontinued a few years ago. And a year from now you will be able to find Microsoft Money 2012, too.

Hm. Point taken.

I just received this e-mail from Microsoft. I'm not quite sure what value, if any, it has relative to Streets & Trips 2011 but I thought I would pass it on.

Mike, each year, the availability of the construction data update seems to be the first Microsoft's mention of the new version of the product, always preceding the actual release of Streets & Trips and MapPoint by at least a few weeks, or a few months.

Marvin:

Thanks. Didn't know that.
