Using ProGin SBT-268 Bluetooth GPS Receiver
malikjunaid
Hi all,

I am a newbie with the GPS stuff.

Recently I got my hands on a ProGin SBT-268 Bluetooth GPS receiver (http://www.progin.com.tw/sbt-268.htm).

I want to pair this device with my laptop and use them together as a Navigation solution. What do I need to do for that? Does anyone have experience with this specific BT GPS receiver?

I will greatly appreciate any help in this regard.

Kind regards,

Muhamamd Junaid Malik.

Hi Malik,

Welcome to the forum.

This is the first time I've heard of this unit, but there are many Bluetooth GPS receivers on the market today, and the setting up process of yours should not differ with how others are set up.

What issue(s) have you run into? What steps have you taken, and what didn't work?

Thanks for the quick response,

I tried to pair the device with Windwos 7 , XP and Ubuntu based notebooks and Desktop machines. The device is detected, but when I enter the default PassCode "0000" as mentioned in the documentation, the pairing fails because of no response from the device.

I add the device to Windows XP without pairing, but then it is not assigned any COM Port, so I can not use it.
Here i find it worth while to mention that i successfully paired it with my mobile phone and accessed the GPS Satelite information in the GPSTrack software.

plz help me!!!
