ALK CoPilot Live 8 Laptop has been released
malaki86
Question about the laptop version and 3D view:

What kind of distance can you see with it in 3D mode? On my Android version, I can see between 3.5 and 4 miles (somewhere in that range).
LouviereLJ
No I do not see a Road Side Assistance feature. Iguess that I have to get that info from the GPS staus section where you can get coordinates. No I have not lost voice in the 3D mode.
LouviereLJ
Malaki86 I think that would be about right but I can check it out again next weekend.

Maybe a little more but not much. I know I have been around 4 miles from my house and I could see the home icon.

Did you make it to Chi - town by 6:30 yesterday morning?

Take a look at this. I have nothing like it
malaki86
Yup - was up there at 4:30am. Switched trailers out and went to Rockford, IL (about 100 miles away). Had to sit until 6am this morning then did a partial unload there and took the rest to Dayton, OH to unload the rest. After they unloaded, I took the empty trailer to Columbus, OH to leave at a FedEx facility. Now I have to bobtail (no trailer) to Indianapolis so I can have some work done to the truck.

All-in-all, in the past 7 days I've driven just over 3,700 miles.

OneRVer I do not have a Road Side Assist feature that I can find as described in the manual. Are you saying that you do not have it either? Who are you dealing with at ALK? Malaki86 I hope that it is nothing major wrong with your truck. Do stay up North or do you get down here in the South? Lonnie
OneRVer
No I don't. Kind of ticks me off.

I was dealing with a Dan somebody but have not heard back from him. I went to the "Contact Us" and ask there but have not heard back from the either..

Malaki, you must have one tried butt.
malaki86
LOL - my butt lost all sensitivity about 8 years ago (been driving truck 10 years).

I run all over the USA. I go in cycles as to where I run, it seems. I'll spend a couple weeks running east of the Mississippi, then I'll spend weeks going back and forth from Laredo, TX to Jacksonville, FL. It just all depends on where they need me.
LouviereLJ
I'll be heading to Biloxi on Friday with a return to Picayune, MS on Sunday so we'll run the program through its paces then.
malaki86
My plan is to upgrade to Windows 7 and get the laptop version of the Truck one the week of Christmas. I'll be home for the entire week, so I should have plenty of time to get this pos upgraded.
LouviereLJ
Malaki86 you are running Live v8 on your androide and not Laptop version right?
malaki86
Correct - just have the android right now - standard, not truck.
OneRVer
I must say that I do like the Live features on this version 8. I did a Diesel Repair search and most of the diesel repair shops around my area came up. Same thing when I did a search for Allison Transmission repair and Truck Stop.

LJ, If you would make me list of your dislikes I will include them with mine and send to ALK. I received an email this morning stating "Keep them coming". I would appreciate your help.

Also if you wouldn't mind,,,, in the Truck Mode, plan a trip to Coordinates, 45 degrees, 29' N - 121 degrees, 79' W. Would be interesting to see if the CoPilot will guide you to this location. This point is Lolo Pass at Mt. Hood Oregon. Version 10 guided me up there while in my Motor Home. Big Mistake.

Hopefully, Malaki, when Christmas rolls around ALK will have the bugs worked out.

Is this a trick question? The Lolo Pass is on #12 highway going over the Great Divide at the border between Idaho and Montana (between Lewiston/Clarkston, ID and Missoula, MT). The coordinates at the top of the pass are N46 38 06.9 W114 34 48.6. It's nowhere near Mt Hood in Oregon.

Or is that the point?
