Hello out there,

Has anybody heard about any issues with Garmin's new Mobile PC software running on Windows 7 Home Premium edition?

No issues specific to Windows 7. The most recent release (5.00.70) is known to have problems with intermittently crashing for some people but it has done that on all three versions of Windows (XP, Vista, Win 7). Anybody with this problem has had to revert to the last stable release (5.00.60)

Hi oldsalt,

I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on my laptop. I cannot think of any issue with Garmin Mobile PC. I use the version that comes with the GPS 10x Bluetooth receiver.

Just a word of caution. Do not upgrade to the latest version 5.00.70, as many people reported random crashes. I use the previous v. 5.00.60, with which I'm very happy.

Hi Marvin,
I was just looking at your pictures of your old set up. What kind of bracket did you use for your laptop? what brand of bracket would you recommend for a small car? Losing the front passenger seat is no problem. Thanks, Fred

Fred, it was just some silly home made creation/modification. Currently I use a RAM Mount product. Check out the following thread for various feedback related to mounts: http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/1089-opinions-laptop-mounting-systems-vehicles
