Twitchy toolbars in Streets & Trips (Windows in a virtual environment)
LineChaser
Lately I notice for some absolutely inexplicable reason the toolbars will just "twitch".

At first I thought it was the drawing toolbar, but it's all of them that twitch.

Anyone else seen this?

I just enabled the Drawing toolbar in Microsoft Streets & Trips 2011 and 2010 to test this, but I don't seems to see what you see. I even started GPS tracking, in case it was related to that. At the end I enabled large toolbars, but still all appears to be OK. However, I'm just running a Windows PC.

What steps could I try to take to reproduce the "Twitching Toolbars" issue?
LineChaser
I have no clue WHEN it started... I only figured it out a few minutes ago. It could have been there even before I installed the 2011 trial.
I'm not doing anything special - just having a map open. It might be remotely related to running Windows in a virtual environment, I dunno.

Not sure either. But I have both, the 2010 and the 2011 versions here on a Windows 7 64 bit laptop, and I haven't ever seen this sort of issue in Streets & Trips yet. I'll keep an eye on it though.

Hey LineChaser, could you give a description of what you mean by "twitchy"? I don't understand so I don't really know what to look for.

E.g. Is it blinking on and off? Is it changing location slightly?

The whole toolbar? Just the icons? Just the background?

All the time? Only in one particular mode? Only when you have the cursor in the toolbar section? Etc?

It looks like a spontaneous refresh - and when I was editing a drivetime zone I just created in one map, the icons would just disappear off the right-click menu sometimes.

I'm starting to suspect some weirdness in the virtual machine more than just S&T - it'll go to screensaver in less than 5 minutes instead of the 15 minutes I set it at for example.

I agree. It sounds more like the operating environment than the program. The virtual video sounds a little wonky.
