I ask to the support.. But I did not get any anwser ? Poor support !
While I sympathize with your frustration that you didn't receive a knowledgeable answer from the technical support, realistically we cannot expect Garmin staff supporting Microsoft products .

That’s why I want a code to use my Deluo GPS too… I Know I will have to pay more…
I'm not sure if there is a place on the web where they sell just the activation code.
You may need to order the DVD (that's exactly what I did for the exact same reason).

You probably right, they give this adress in the software:

http://www.garmin.com/gmxt

But it's not working

it's working very well but it's no more expensive to by a other mouse GPS than buy GPSGate

Marvin,
I was again working with my son on his cross Canada trip. One section was Lindsay ON to Cornwall but he didn't want to use the 401. Not knowing the area, I added Winchester and that looked good in MapSource (MG Can v4). But when I transferred it to MPC, the route was back on 401 with a jog to Winchester.

I got to try the Shape command. Basically you click on a location you would like the route to go through and click add (like adding a waypoint only simpler). the route then includes that point and, if you chose a good location. your route is where you want it.The advantage over adding a waypoint was you have a full screen to work with and can see immediately if your choice was successful.

As I am not entirely comfortable with the Edit command yet, this was a great solution.

Also of note;
You must disable your GPS input to view routes which don't include your present location.

It would be nice if users of Garmin Mobile PC could just simply draw on the map an area to avoid, just like it is possible in Microsoft Streets and Trips. That way you could quickly block Hwy-401 from being used for routing. :-)

Yeah, Hwy-401 is good to avoid sometimes, if you wish to enjoy your drive.

That's how I feel about it.

I now have two GlobalSats by the way.
Garmin thinks their ways will raise more revenue, well their right - for GlobalSat

False: It was not activated, it's working

Anyone have a comparison between MPC and NRoute? I've used NRoute for years in our RV and love it. But, being a gadget person, the MPC seems interesting. Thanks! Steve

Hi Belgique, check out the comparison thread: http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/441-garmin-nroute-versus-garmin-mobile-pc

Hi MArvin. So sorry. I searched and didn't see this thread so I did a bad search. Many thanks for the kind referral. Steve

Belgique, no need to apologize. There are plenty of helpful people here in the forum, and if we don't know the answer, we at least try to give a good link .

By the way, Ken just posted an update (it's worth reading): http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/623-garmin-mobile-pc-versus-garmin-nroute-updated-view

Just got it (the bundle) and after a difficult install that required Garmin help, got it running. Seems impressive. I'm an old NRoute guy but this look pretty good. Even note that it has pretty good coverage of Mexico where we go in our RV.

Did come across something that I don't know if it is a Garmin problem or an XP problem. Every single time I try to save an address to Contacts, the program blows up, in a big way...it simply disappears and cannot be restarted. Re-boot won't work...have to re-install. Get this error: "Garmin Mobile XT...Read access violation at data address 0x0000000. Program Address 0x006CF874 in thread GPX main."

Will try it on the road this week and report back. The routing it gave me is the correct one even with my secret shortcuts. Steve
