How to convert a Garmin Track to a Garmin route without having to do a GPX file?
desert_runner
Is there anyway to convert from a Garmin Track to a Garmin route without having to do a GPX file?

I have tried trackmaker, but it requires me to convert from the Garmin to a GPX file and every time I try that on Mapsource it flashes an error code and closes. (Mapsource 6.16.3). So, I cannot use trackmaker.

Have also tried gpsbabel and it continues to get an error code 1, but cannot find an explanation about what error code 1 means.

So, is there a way to convert the Garmin track to a Garmin route?

Thanks

Problems saving to GPX in Mapsource 6.16.3 is a problem that has occasionally been experienced by some people. The simple alternative is to download Basecamp (free download from Garmin) and use it for the conversion. When you have the track in Basecamp you can just right-click on the name of the track and select "Create Route from Selected Track".

Thank you, sir. That is a pretty nice program, that I have never heard of before.

Hello, when needed, I recommend to try http://gpx2kml.com/ and convert gpx format to kml and vice versa. It is a free software program, simple to use and it generates fast results. Maybe it's useful, thank you!
