Does Microsoft Streets & Trips 2011 do routing for large vehicles such as RVs?
prsmith
Hello all,

I drive a 35 foot motorhome and am thinking of buying Microsoft Streets and Trips 2011.

Does it provide routing for large vehicles such as RVs (height, width, length, speed etc)? Also can I send my routing to my TomTom GPS?

I have read that I can use my LT-40 Street Atlas GPS sensor to feed Streets & Trips 2011 on a Windows 7 computer - is this true?

Thanks,
P

No, not directly...

I think the only software with that feature right now is CoPilot. I may be wrong, though.

CoPilot has 2 versions available, Standard (which does cars & RV routing) and Truck (which does large truck routing). The Standard version, in RV mode, will ask you for the height of your RV, and will take in account for propane tanks in tunnels.

I have an LT-40 and it does not work with Win 7. See Delorme forum.
Delorme does not intend to update the Delorme Emulator program with Win 7 drivers.

Too bad. I will say that the USB GPS locators that come with the GPS versions of Streets & Trips will work nicely with either DeLorme or Streets & Trips with no emulator needed. It also has Windows 7 64bit drivers.
